Our Why
Breast cancer is near and dear to my heart. I lost my younger sister Susan to the disease. Then six years later, I faced my own breast cancer diagnosis. I am profoundly grateful to be able to embrace a second chance of living a healthier life.
During my post-treatment recovery, I told myself that each step I took, I was moving back into my life. And I was.
In addition to adopting more functional fitness activities, I started scrutinizing food labels, understanding ingredients and additives found in today’s food supply. I realized that how we cook and what we eat are the true pillars of a healthier life.
I wrote this cookbook to help empower more breast cancer survivors like myself who have completed active treatment and a bit of recovery. I want them to ask themselves: What more can I do to live my best life?
This book is filled with creative, wholesome recipes and healthy habits for breast cancer thrivership. Two other breast cancer survivors are featured in Forkfuls of Flavor, cooking their favorite recipes and offering their thoughts on thrivership.
I believe that Forkfuls of Flavor can help breast cancer thrivers and everyone who cooks these recipes begin their own journeys to truly lead their best life.
